How does your organisation measure up or score at people reporting?

Now in its 8th year, PwC’s BPTA’s recognise excellence in corporate reporting.

The judges assess the external reporting published by organisations in the FTSE 350 that relates specifically to their greatest asset, their people.

When considering this award the judges look at the extent to which publicly available information enables stakeholders to make a balanced evaluation of the strength of human capital management and employment practice. Both the breadth and quality of reporting was taken into account with those organisations judged to be successful providing relevant and robust human capital data with targets and/or benchmarks where appropriate.

The judging criteria were based upon PwC's corporate reporting framework and can be split into the following four areas:

• Market overview
• Human capital strategy
• People processes
• Human capital impact

In 2010, companies’ people reporting maintained the steady improvement noted in previous years. Our assessment shows that some 60% of the FTSE 100 increased their scores this year – combined with a welcome trend towards providing more people information in the main annual report, as opposed to within a supplementary corporate social responsibility (CSR) report.
