HR Shared Services network review

In January 2008 PricewaterhouseCoopers Saratoga ran the first HR Shared Services Network event of this year. The event was hosted by network member Royal Mail at their Innovation Lab in Rugby, Warwickshire.

The event was attended by over 20 organisations which are at the forefront of HR transformation and HR Shared Service delivery.

Some highlights of the meeting included:

• A tour of Royal Mail's Innovation Lab – a custom built facility designed to stimulate creative thought.
• PwC Saratoga presented the key findings of the 2007 HR Shared Services Index report and debated the current measurement best practice.
• Member presentations: a session on the HR transformation experience and one member's journey through the HR outsourcing process.
• Three new network members' introductions.
• 'Break out' sessions where we debated current issues and challenges within the group including: recruitment effectiveness, contact centre structure and management and the use of online portals to deliver HR services.
